Tatton MP and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne visited Arley Hall in Cheshire to meet the cast and crew of Disney and Lime Pictures’ latest hit production, Evermoor.
Evermoor is a UK-based live action series produced and filmed by Lime Pictures in the North West of England. Already seen by 1.5 million viewers in the UK, Evermoor will go on to premiere on Disney Channel in more than 160 countries worldwide from this autumn.
The backdrop location for Evermoor is Arley Hall with additional filming taking place in nearby Great Budworth and studios in nearby Warrington.
Liverpool based production company Lime Pictures were commissioned by Disney to produce the series, which created 70 production roles in the North West’s creative economy as well as offering acting roles to a host of emerging British talent.
The rich creative resources and strong talent in the UK, combined with supportive government policies have built an environment that has allowed creativity to flourish; companies like Disney are benefitting from this and investing in the UK across TV, film, visual effects and live theatre.
Chancellor of the Exchequer and local Tatton MP, George Osborne commented:
“The creative economy is robust and booming in the UK. Productions like Evermoor demonstrate the quality of skills and talent throughout the country, creating jobs and attracting international investment.
In addition, I remain committed to making the UK one of the most competitive nations in the world for the creative industries, with our programme of tax breaks and other flagship policies helping to bring some of the most exciting productions in the world here, like the new Star Wars films and The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“It is particularly great to see this partnership between Disney and Lime Pictures bringing investment and employment to the North West and to my constituency. Britain has many talented people and beautiful locations and the creative sector is very important to our wider economy.”
