We are inviting you to join us at the Arley Garden Festival, on 22nd & 23rd June, which this year will be celebrating its 25th year! The Festival, which regularly attracts 5,000 visitors, has become one of the highlights of the horticultural year in the North West and follows the Cheshire Show.
We are delighted to be welcoming one of the UK’s most renowned garden designers to this year’s Arley Garden festival. Tom Stuart-Smith, who designed a garden at Windsor Castle to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, will be giving a lecture on Saturday 22nd June (TOM’S LECTURE IS SOLD OUT).
His talk will focus on his experience designing walled gardens looking at examples as varied as one in the heart of Marrakech and another at RHS Bridgewater.
Once again there will be 15 specialist plant nurseries being judged in the Floral Marquee and a wide variety of plant nurseries on the show ground as well as Garden tours throughout the day lead by Lord Ashbrook and Gordon Baillie our Head Gardener, there will also be a Gardening Question Time session on both days with Gordon Baillie our Head Gardener and Lord Ashbrook who will be talking about the history of the Arley gardens.
There will be garden accessories and Creative Crafts who will host a superb marquee, food traders include cheese, pies and pastries, icecream, cakes, scotch eggs, cider, sweets and more. There will be a brass band playing in the afternoon in the east garden by the hall, an area not normally open to the public and a jazz band playing around the showground during the morning. Street Jazz will entertain you with foot tapping music in the stable yard.
In the Countryside Marquee visitors will be able to enjoy Coppice Fencing and Dry Stone Wall demonstrations. Classic cars will be infront of the Hall.
The Schools Garden Challenge will be on the main showground with local schools creating and planting wonderful flowerbeds which will be judged on the Saturday morning by the Floral Marquee judges and with a public vote taking place over the weekend, enabling all visitors to vote for their favourite flowerbed.
