Filming at Arley
Arley Hall and its surrounding grounds are a popular film location having played host to many period and contemporary dramas.
From the exclusive location for the series, Cluedo and Soames' house in the Forsythe Saga to being a backdrop for The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and hosting a number of Coronation Street weddings, Arley has proved to be a top class venue for film and television companies. In addition, Arley is a popular venue for commercial filming and photography, including advertisements and product launches.
Arley Hall has a number of spacious staterooms, each given its own character by the elaborate plasterwork, panelling and furniture. From the Emperor's Room, once home to Napoleon III, through to the magnificent oak-panelled Library and the Gallery with its stain glass windows and impressive fireplace, the Hall offers a series of historic, opulent and authentic backdrops. Other indoor opportunities include the C15th Cruck Barn and the new state-of-the-art conference centre, Olympia.
The magnificent Gardens, recently voted amongst the top 50 in Europe and top 10 in Britain, are celebrated for their double herbaceous borders, giant Ilex columns, pleached Lime Avenue, yew topiary and walled gardens and offers a stunning variety of backdrops for film and photography.
The Estate's 2,000 acres features undulating park, ancient woodland, secluded hamlet and lake as well as a cobbled stableyard present countless film and photo opportunities in an undisturbed environment.
