Galloways Antiques Fair – Friday 8th, Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th May

Galloway Antiques Fairs have been organising quality antiques and fine art fairs for 20 years.

They have nationally known dealers exhibiting a wide range of items to Galloway Fairsinclude town and country furniture, silver, jewellery, paintings, sculpture, glass, porcelain, antiquarian books and prints, angling antiques, oriental rugs, mirrors, clocks, lighting and many decorative items for your home. Their fairs have a dateline restriction of 1970 with the exception of fine art and sculpture where no dateline applies. All items are vetted for quality and ‘reproductions’ are strictly forbidden.

Simply Cheshire Spring Fair- Friday 22nd & Saturday 23rd May

With over 80 talented, carefully selected exhibitors exclusively from Cheshire, this new Spring Fair is set to be an outstanding showcase of the County’s independent designers and producers.

There will be a whole array of stalls from plants and bird tables for the garden to beautiful artwork and ceramics for the home, food and drink to enjoy and jewellery, clothing and accessories for you! It will be a chance to buy directly from the maker, to discover how it was designed or produced and find something truly unique from Cheshire.

Many of the exhibitors will be demonstrating on the day, there will be chainsaw art, watercolour painting, willow weaving, free hand sketching, glass work, textile weaving and workshops being run by Allie Pottinger and The Lavender Shed, part of The Lavender Tree from Alderley Edge. Aga will be running demonstrations throughout the day,Tesla Motors will be bringing along their cars and the magnificent Pangea Sculptures will be making an appearance.

Arley Hall’s gardens will be open to Simply Cheshire’s visitors and there will be live music from Paul Pashley, Josh Whittaker and James Pearson.

Alongside supporting local businesses and people, we will also be supporting “The Joshua Tree”, a Cheshire based charity which aims to build a respite holiday home in Cheshire for children with life threatening illnesses.

NGS Garden Scheme Opening – The Old Parsonage – Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st May

Lord & Lady Ashbrook open their own personal 2 acre garden to the public. It is set in an attractive and secretive rural setting in a secluded part of the Arley Estate, with ancient yew hedges, herbaceous and mixed borders, shrub roses and climbers leading to a woodland garden and unfenced pond with gunnera and water plants. Rhododendrons, azaleas, meconopsis, cardiocrinum and some interesting and unusual trees.

Open 2pm – 5.30 Adults £4.50 children free. Wheelchair access over mown grass.

Bush Crafts Courses – May- September

Bush craft activity courses, 1-3 days for individuals or corporate team building are being held at Arley during April – September.

DogFest – Sunday 14th June

DogFest celebrates everything that is special and life changing about having a dog in the family. Come join us for an outdoor festival for you & your dogs!
Meet Channel 4 Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick who will be giving talks on the advances in the veterinary profession as well as signings, photos opportunities and Q&A sessions. Plus don’t miss the SuperVet Hero Awards, recounting heart-warming success stories and special dogs helping special people.

Join Noel on the Great Dog Walk, a charity walk around the beautiful grounds, taking place at 11am and 3pm. Watch agility displays, doggy dancing and even take part in have-a-go sessions with your dog. Get first-hand advice from the experts with talks and demonstrations on all aspects of your dog’s life, enjoy the festival village with a bespoke doggy shopping area and perhaps even treat your pooch to a grooming session.

Don’t miss out on the exciting live shows at the Nerf Activity Ring, where you can see entertaining displays of Flyball, Duck Herding, Police Dogs and not forgetting the Fun Dog Show, where special guest judges will present competing dogs with awards including Most Handsome Dog, Golden Oldie (10yrs +), Best Rescue and many more!

Arley Garden Festival – Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June

Once again there will be a Floral Marquee and a wide variety of plant nurseries as well as Garden tours run throughout the day lead by Lord Ashbrook and Gordon Baillie our Head Gardener and all the gardeners are on hand during the day for help and advice, there will be a Question Time session on both days.

There will also be horticultural accessories, a Creative Crafts marquee, a food fair in our historic Cruck Barn, delicious catering outlets, brass and jazz band entertainment as well as an art exhibition in Olympia.

In the Countryside Marquee you will be able to enjoy Stick Making, Coppice Fencing and Dry Stone Wall demonstrations.

The Schools Flowerbed Challenge, which runs all weekend, will be judged on the Saturday morning by the Floral Marquee judges with a public vote taking place over the weekend, enabling all visitors to vote for their favourite flowerbed.

It’s a great family day out with children’s entertainment including face painting and children’s rides and trampolines as well our own picnic area and Adventure Play Zone complete with zip wire!

Open 10am – 5pm FREE parking.
(Please note there will be road closures for part of the morning of Saturday 20th due to the local celebration at Appleton Thorn of the Bawming of the Thorn.)

NGS Garden Scheme Opening – The East Garden – Sunday 28th June

Two, modern, very attractive gardens made since 1992 on the site of the 19th Century East Garden by the owners of the Arley Hall Nursery and the East House, Arley Hall. Old shrub roses, early summer perennials and circular herbaceous borders enclosed by hedges. Many varieties of hardy herbaceous perennials – the speciality of the nursery.

Open 11am – 5pm, Adults £4.50 children free. Wheelchair access throughout.

Wedding Open Evening – Wednesday 1st July

If you have already booked your wedding at Arley or are thinking of Arley as a venue for your wedding, come along and see the Hall set as an exclusive wedding venue and experience for yourself the romantic and welcoming atmosphere which the Hall offers you and your guests. Meet the Arley team who will be happy to help with any advice and tips for the perfect day. You can get married at Arley in The historic hall, magnificent Cruck Barn or in the stunning Alcove outside in the gardens, the choice is yours.

Speak to some of our preferred suppliers who will be on hand to offer suggestions and show examples of their work from florists to dresses, vintage cars, cakes and musicians.

Cheshire East Registration Service will also provide a ceremony presentation ‘Your Ceremony’ in the Drawing Room at 6pm. It gives brides and grooms a fabulous opportunity of being able to see how they can create the perfect wedding ceremony for their special day. The registrars will also happily answer questions after the ceremony.

Open 5pm – 8pm, admission and parking is FREE, no need to book simple come along.

Fairy Tales & Trails – Sunday 5th July

Children are invited to explore the magical gardens through our new Fairy
Tales & Trails, unravelling the storybook clues as they make their way through
The Gardens. Arley can boast several ‘secret gardens’ thanks to a host of
nooks and crannies that are just waiting to be explored by your little ones.

And don’t forget there is plenty other outdoor fun in our Adventure Play Zone
with it’s zip wire, sandpit, swings, slide and willow domes. Bring a picnic or
buy a children’s fun food box from our Tudor Barn Restaurant.

Live In The Park Outdoor Concert – Saturday 11th July

Live music where you can bring a picnic before you watch on stage, The Dolly Show, Europe’s top Dolly Parton tribute act which combines her greatest hits with flawless comic timing. Next to the stage will be Johnny Lee Memphis: world champion Elvis impersonator who guarantees the same excitement that the King of rock ‘n’ roll delivered to his audiences. Closing the concert with their close harmony singing, The Blue Beatles will capture the iconic sound of the sixties. All proceeds to The Neuro Muscular Centre – Winsford.
