Walled Garden Theatre Twelfth Night – Friday 28th August

If music be the food of love, play on!

This summer The Lord Chamberlain’s Men return to the beautiful surroundings of Arley Hall. This award-winning company arrive this summer with their magical production of Twelfth Night – this brand new, action-packed production of Shakespeare’s greatest romantic comedy is a story of love, loss, confusion and, ultimately, a joyous happy ending.
For the past decade the company have brought their own special brand of authentic, exhilarating and engaging productions to the UK’s most historically important and visually stunning venues and this year’s production of Twelfth Night will be no different.

One of literature’s most famous and tangled love stories the production will be over-flowing with love, laughter and longing and mischief, mayhem and mistaken identity. With one of the best-known comic sub-plots ever written no performance of Twelfth Night is complete without a good dose of the pompous steward Malvolio and his cross-gartered yellow stockings!!

O time, thou must untangle this, not I.
It is too hard a knot for me to untie!

Mushroom Walks – Sunday 27th September

Walks are at 11am – 1pm & 2pm – 4pm.
With over 40 varieties of mushrooms at Arley this is an opportunity to see and hear about the diverse array of multi-coloured growths, in the autumnal months of the year, which we know as fungi. Fungi are the fruiting bodies of underground organisms that are neither plant nor animal. These mystical creations are structured in a way similar to plants yet feed in the way of animals, by drawing sustenance from living or dead matter. These two major factors contribute to fungi being classified in a Kingdom of their own.
These walks are not intended as a food foray and species may not be taken for culinary use, edibility will not be discussed, concentration will be on identification and building up a knowledge of the fungal world.
£5.00 per person (entry to The Gardens is an additional fee)
Booking essential, waterproof clothing and sensible footwear should be worn as the walks are in grass and woodland areas. Meeting in the stable yard.
