Alcohol Ink on Canvas Workshop

Saturday 6th June 2026

In this extended 3.5-hour, 10am - 1.30pm, alcohol ink workshop, you’ll explore the fluid, meditative beauty of inks — a medium that surprises and delights with every movement.

You’ll begin with practice pieces before creating your own 40 x 50cm canvas to take home. Then you will be guided through techniques including blending, layering, creating texture, and shaping space, so you can bring to life abstract forms, moons, landscapes, florals, or something entirely your own.

This workshop is open to everyone — whether you’ve never picked up a brush since school or you’re a seasoned maker looking for a fresh approach.

Whimsicle & Wild Ceramics Exhibition

Children's Outdoor Theatre – Jungle Book

Sunday 14th June 2026

Immersion Theatre are thrilled to bring their trademark energy to their wildly entertaining musical adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling family favourite, THE JUNGLE BOOK!

Filled with original music, audience interaction, and a host of larger-than-life characters, you are invited to join Mowgli and his friends, Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, on a madcap jungle adventure as they meet and attempt to outwit a slithering snake, some cheeky monkeys, and the fierce tiger, Shere Khan! Funny, exciting and wildly entertaining, this AOOO-some musical will have you howling with laughter: It’s the perfect treat for the whole family!

The performance, in the East garden, which is not normally open to the public giving you the opportunity to see The Hall and park land from a different perspective while you watch the play. It is the perfect way to introduce children to live theatre in this relaxed and informal setting.

Bring along a rug or low backed chair to sit on.

Performance starts at 2.00pm and lasts 2 hours. Gates to performance open 1.30pm. Gardens are open from 10am.
Recommended for children 4+. Approximate run time: Act 1 – 45 minutes / Interval / Act 2 – 40 minutes.

Spring Botanical Watercolour Workshops,

Sunday 21st June 2026

Sue McHugh, is a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists and is the current Artist in Residence at Knowsley Hall, Sue is hosting a series of 2 hour, relaxed botanical watercolour art classes, aimed at beginners in the Coach House at Arley each month throughout the year.

Each workshop last 2 hours.

£50pp and includes a hot drink & cake as well as access to the gardens (normally £13) and parking (normally £4).

10 places per session so booking is essential.

The workshop requires no experience and the easy-to-follow process will walk you through the key steps to producing realistic botanical watercolours with real impact!

All professional art materials will be provided, just turn up!

What you will learn:

- Key elements of botanical illustration
- The art materials Sue uses
- Selecting your botanical specimen to paint
- Composition and common elements of botanical layouts
- Sue's easy-to-follow step-by-step watercolour technique

The focus will be learning about the watercolour process used to produce a spring painting to take away.

Sue's aim is to share her love for botanical watercolours and to demystify the key stages to creating successful paintings.
