Cleaner/Housekeeper

Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of the housekeeping team this role will play a core part in providing fantastic customer service.

Part time – expected hours averaging 16-20 per week (possibly more in busy periods), based on 4 days (including weekends) working 10am – 2pm.

The Salary: £12.21 per hour, zero hours contract.

What you’ll be doing

As a member of the housekeeping team, you’ll go out of your way for others, and you’ll help to make Arley an extra special place to visit. You’ll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning, ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order. You’ll ensure the highest standards of customer service by always implementing a ‘customer comes first’ attitude.

Daily tasks of the housekeeping team include:

  • Cleaning and maintaining all public areas to a high standard
  • Ensuring all visitor areas are cleaned in line with company standards and maintained throughout the day
  • Assisting the events team with set up and breakdown for events including movement of tables, chairs, furniture, and historic artifacts when required to ensure the smooth running of each event/function held at Arley
  • Cleaning and resetting 5 short-term holiday let properties ready for next guests to check in. Changing linen, cleaning all areas, and making everything look welcoming for their arrival
  • Undertake pre and post event/function cleaning of venues and facilities to ensure that standards of maintenance and cleanliness are met including the collation and removal of all rubbish
  • Ensuring all maintenance issues are reported
  • Ensuring all cleaning chemicals are used and stored in the correct manner
  • Completing workload within given time

Volunteering Opportunities

We are recruiting Volunteers to join our team of Hall Stewards.

Volunteering as a Room Steward in the elegant surroundings of Arley Hall is a rewarding opportunity. You will join a friendly team and enjoy sharing the history of this beautiful Grade II* listed Hall and promoting the estate. Based within the rooms of the Victorian Hall, you will be a helpful, knowledgeable first point of contact for visitors, providing an exceptional visitor experience.

Arley Hall is open to visitors all year round on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday each month. In High season – March to October, the Hall opens between 10.00am and 4.30pm; Low Season – November to February, the Hall opens 10am to 3.30pm.
